Dr. Adriana Olar is a board-certified neuropathologist and molecular pathologist with expertise in brain tumor diagnostics and research. She obtained her M.D. and M.Sc in Clinical Pharmacology degrees from the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She completed residency in Anatomic Pathology/Neuropathology at Baylor College of Medicine and The Methodist Hospital, Houston, TX, a NIH-sponsored postdoctoral fellowship in Brain Tumor Research and a Molecular Genetic Pathology clinical fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

   

      She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, practice guidelines, and book chapters as well as actively serves on scientific journal editorial boards and study sections. She presented her research at several medical conferences both nationally and internationally. She is passionate about "science done right", education, mentorship of the next generations, and is very active in scientific peer-review. She is the member of several professional organizations and is committed to excellence both in her professional career as well in her personal life.

  

      A strong believer in "practice what you preach", Dr. Olar practices an active lifestyle balanced with healthy eating, emotional and mental health habits. She is an avid athlete (skier, runner, scuba diver) and a CrossFit Level 2 trainer passionate about coaching and implementing modified physical activity for athletes over 60 years of age and athletes with disabilities. In her free time she studies mathematics, physics, and hyperbaric medicine, enjoys long hikes with her dog and caring for animals.
